Inter Federation Pitch and Putt 2010
National Final on Saturday 4th September.
Teams to meet at seapoint course at 10am for a shotgun start.
Everyone to go to An Grianan when competition is over for a presentation lunch.
€40 entry fee per team and €50 for lunch for the team to be sent to national contest secretary

Inter Federation Cup for Art 2010 Photography
A photo of an animal or a number of animals or birds. No people in the photo.

2 categories 1. Black and White 2. Colour

Photographs entered must have been taken by the entrant
  Minimum size 5"x4" Max 8"x10"(13cmx10cm 20cmx25cm)
  Entry fee 5 euro per photograph cheques to be made out to ICA Wicklow Contests Stamped Self Addressed Envelope for return
  No details of entrant on photograph.

ICA Trophy for Reporting 2010 Report on an ICA centenary event
held at guild, federation or national level

  The report should be approx 500 words.
entries must be typed on one side of paper only, using double spacing and wide margins.

Planning Ahead
Betty Manning Trophy 2011
The competition for the Betty Manning Trophy for 2011 will be in three parts:

A poster (any medium) A3 size to advertise a Guild event
A report (computer generated) on that event. Report to be 500-1000 words
  6 photographs of that event. Each photo to be 6” x 4” (15cmx10cm)
The entries to be with federations by end of March 2011.
Federations to send their 2 winning entries to National Contest Secretary by end of April. Results to be given at the A.G.M. in May.

Eleanora Gibbon Cup 2011 A Variety Show with a Season as the Theme

  Choose one of the 4 seasons and present a 15 minute show on that season
15 minute empty stage to empty stage
Tables/chairs/ hand held props /musical instruments only
Presentation might have music, singing, dancing, poetry, verse speaking, prose, sketch
but must include 3 of these
Federation finals will be held in April 2011. Reginal and national finals in May/June 2011


We had another great contest finals weekend in An Grianan from12th-14th March
The house and three bungalows were full a number of supporters
who couldn't get a bed in An Grianan stayed locally and came in for meals
and to partake in all that was going on.
On Friday night Drogheda Comhaltas group entertained us
with great music, songs and dancing and had us all up on the floor
dancing the
Walls of Limerick, Shoe the Donkey and other ceili dances.

18 federations had an entry in the Make and Model sponsored by Hickey's.
The outfits were all stunning. ICA members are very very talented.
Mary Coonan from Dublin, Sheila Sherlock from Wicklow, Mary Darcy from Wexford,
Pattie Dwyer from Laois and Breda Mc Donald from Kilkenny were Highly Commended

Mary Matthews from Louth was 3rd
Betty Denning from Cavan was 2nd
and the winner was Wendy Donoghue from Roscommon.


26 federations had an entry in the Gempack Recipe Competition

Maureen Davey from Sligo was 3rd
with her recipe 'Rudolph's Gemilicious Dessert'
Margaret Grace from Kilkenny was 2nd
with her recipe 'Rum and Chocolate Semolina Mould'
and the winner was Jenny Jones from Wicklow
with her recipe 'Lemon and Chocolate Semolina Cream Cake'
which was served to everyone at lunch.

11 stories had been shortlisted from the 48 entries.
Ann Walter from Dromboylan Guild Roscommon was 3rd
Mary Shiel from Ballymun Guild Dublin was 2nd
and the winner was Maria Walsh from Portmarnock Guild Dublin
The stories were read in an effective speaking competition and
Maria was the winner.

26 federations had a table quiz team.
Philip Mc Cabe was the question master.
The Wicklow team
Una Ryan, Stephanie Mc Donald and Joan O'Flaherty were 3rd
The Kerry team
Maria Donoghue, Colette Dalton and Mary O'Donnell were 2nd
and the winners were Waterford
